What it takes to list on Syria Inn in good standing, how you get paid, and what protects you as a host.
Listing standards
Your title, description, and photos must accurately represent the property — no stock photos standing in for your actual place, no stretching the truth on amenities or location. Every new listing goes through admin review before it goes live; this keeps fake and misleading listings off the platform and protects the trust guests place in every listing they see, including yours.
Pricing and commission
You set your nightly price (in USD or SYP), plus any cleaning fee or extra-guest fee. Guests see a 5% service fee added on top when they book, and pay you the full amount. For every completed stay you owe Syria Inn 8% of the stay price (the nightly rate × nights, after discounts; cleaning fees excluded) — which includes that 5% service fee. It's added to a balance on your Billing page. There's no payment deadline for now: you'll settle it through online payment once that launches.
Booking obligations
Apartments and other homes are booked by request: you get an email and a notification, and you have 12 hours to accept or decline from your host dashboard — after that the request expires and the dates are released. Hotel rooms are confirmed instantly, so keep their calendars accurate. You can switch any listing between the two. Declining a request is always fine; cancelling a booking you've already confirmed is not — every such cancellation is recorded and reviewed by our team, and repeated cancellations can lead to your account being restricted.
House rules and guest safety
Set clear check-in/check-out times and house rules in your listing so guests know what to expect before they book. Your exact address stays private (guests see only an approximate area) until a booking is confirmed — this protects your privacy and fits how addresses are described locally.
Collecting payment
You collect payment directly from the guest — cash on arrival or a wallet transfer — Syria Inn never touches or holds that money. When a guest transfers payment, confirm the receipt they upload so the booking and commission are recorded accurately on both sides.
Verification
Verifying your ID unlocks a verified-host badge, which builds guest trust and generally means more bookings. Your documents are handled privately and are removed from storage once a decision is made — only the outcome is kept.
Your protections as a host
Guests who don't show up accumulate no-show strikes and are suspended after three. If a guest damages your property, misrepresents themselves, or a payment dispute comes up, our support team can review the situation — contact them with your evidence.
Consequences
Repeated inaccurate listings, cancelling confirmed bookings, or violating platform rules can lead to a listing being paused or rejected, and in serious or repeated cases, account suspension.
Listings run by the Syria Inn team
Some owners ask our team to run their listing for them. In that case a member of our listing team publishes the listing with the owner's agreement, answers guests' messages, and accepts or declines each booking request after calling the owner. The owner stays responsible for the property and for everything in this policy, and is paid by the guest directly. An owner can take over their own account at any time by contacting support.
